Now, the kindergarten, first grade and second grade are like first couple of the steps of the stairs. You can learn this level of math easily, as you can jump enough to take yourself to second or third step of the stairs easily. As it is very hard to reach sixth or seventh step of a stairs by jumping from the ground, exactly the same way to learn grade five or higher grade math is very hard (or impossible) without having the good knowledge of the kindergarten to grade three or grade four math. Now, consider one person is jumping on the ground to reach the third floor of a building. Can this person make it? Never, if he is not Spider-man. For this person, to reach the third floor by jumping is impossible or very hard and finally he gave up saying that it was very hard to reach third floor.

Many children are being left behind due to lack of math skills. Schools today seem to do a poor job of preparing students for math at the middle and high school level. Two is easy to teach and point out. Pair of socks, shoes, etc. Five fingers on a hand and toes on feet. Ten total fingers and toes. At the preschool level, start counting up to 20. Add small numbers, 1 plus 1 is 2. 2 plus 1 is 3. You can even begin the fraction of one half. Half a sandwich, and other food items are a great start. When finishing kindergarten, your child needs to be able to count past 20 and know what larger numbers mean as well. Not working with them, just be familiar.
Regular attendance classes at school are a must for students. In this way, students can be familiar with mathematical problems. Additionally, the habit of solving math problems on a regular basis can be inculcated in students. Students can understand their own weak areas, as well. Re-practice of class work at home is also required. Class timings at school are limited so both students and tutors do not put in enough time on each topic. Therefore, students should practice the class work again at home and solve their problems. They can work on different examples and later, discuss these with their tutors.
